Membership

There are three (3) categories of membership
  • Regulated Member
  • Ordinary Membership
  • Associate Membership​

Regulated Membership
  1. Membership is not open to individual practitioners.
  2. Membership shall be open to societies and associations registered pursuant to the Societies Act 1966 and which complementary medicine modalities and practice areas are recognised and approved by the Traditional and Complementary Medicine (T&CM) Council, Ministry of Health Malaysia.
  3. Upon payment of the annual regulated membership fee, the member shall be entitled to the following privileges:-
  • to attend, participate in activities and vote in the General Meetings of the Federation;
  • to be elected or appointed thereto, as a member of the Committee;
  • to be appointed thereto, as a representative member of the Federation in T&CM Council; and
  • to serve as a state representative, upon being appointed as such.

Ordinary Membership
  1. Membership is not open to individual practitioners.
  2. Membership shall be open to societies and associations registered pursuant to the Societies Act 1966 and which complementary medicine modalities and practice areas that are yet to be recognised and approved by the Traditional and Complementary Medicine (T&CM) Council, Ministry of Health Malaysia.
  3. Upon payment of the annual ordinary membership fee, the member shall be entitled to the following privileges:-
  • ​to attend, participate in activities and vote in the General Meetings of the Federation;
  • to be elected or appointed thereto, as a member of the Committee; and
  • to serve as a state representative, upon being appointed as such.

Associate Membership
  1. Membership is not open to individual practitioners.
  2. Membership shall be open to companies / organisations / institutions that have interest in advocating the practice of complementary medicine and procurement of complementary practitioners which complementary medicine modalities and practice areas have yet to be recognised and approved by the T&CMC, Ministry of Health Malaysia.
  3. Upon payment of the annual associate membership fee, the member shall be entitled to the following privileges:-
  • to attend, participate in activities and General Meetings of the Federation but shall not be entitled to vote or hold office of the Federation; and
  • to serve as a state representative, upon being appointed as such.

Members in Good Standing
  1. A member is in good standing with the Federation for the purpose of this Constitution, when:-
  • the member is not in default of any fees, costs, dues, assessments, levies, or fines prescribed by the Act, Regulations and Constitution;
  • the member is not under investigation, suspension, struck off or cancelled for any reason; or
  • the member is not subject to any terms, conditions or limitations other than those prescribed in the Act or any relevant Regulations.

Rate of Dues and Fees
The membership dues and fees shall be:-
  • Application Fee : RM1,500.00.
  • Annual Membership (Regulated, Ordinary, Associate) : RM1,500.00 per annum.

Terms and Conditions
  1. Ordinary Member may apply to the Federation to change their membership category, subject to the relevant terms and conditions.
  2. Ordinary Member shall be automatically change to Regulated Member upon its modality and practice area being recognised and approved by the T&CM Council.
  3. All Members including their individual members shall strictly comply with FCNMAM's Constitution, FCNMAM's Handbook, instructions and/or advice of the office bearers and committee members of FCNMAM and the rules and regulations imposed by FCNMAM from time to time.
  4. Should the Ordinary Member / Associate Member or their individual member(s) fail to comply with FCNMAM's Constitution, FCNMAM's Handbook, instructions and/or advice of the office bearers and committee members of FCNMAM and the rules and regulations imposed by FCNMAM, FCNMAM may at its own discretion commence disciplinary action against the Ordinary Member / Associate Member or their individual member(s) in accordance to Clauses 21(9) or 5 (2) herein.
  5. Each application for membership shall be sent to the Honorary Secretary of FCNMAM who shall process the application according to procedures and guidelines from the T&CMC, Ministry of Health Malaysia.
  6. The Committee of FCNMAM may at its discretion reject any membership application without assigning any reason thereof.
  7. Association / Society / Companies / Organisations / Institutions whose application has been approved shall upon payment of the prescribed entrance fee and annual subscription fee, be admitted as a member of FCNMAM, and shall be entitled to privileges of the respective membership subject to the terms and conditions stipulated herein.
  8. The first association / society practising a modality registered as Regulated member or Ordinary Member of FCNMAM and duly complied with FCNMAM's standard and criteria as laid down in FCNMAM's Constitution, FCNMAM's Handbook and the rules and regulations imposed by FCNMAM will be representing the modality in the Committee.
  9. Should the member representing the modality or its individual member(s) performance and/or conduct violates the FCNMAM's Constitution, FCNMAM's Handbook and the rules and regulations imposed by FCNMAM, FCNMAM may at its own discretion commence disciplinary action against the member representing the modality or its individual member(s) in accordance to Clauses 21(9) or 5(2) herein and shall appoint the next senior association / society practicing the same modality as a member representing the modality at the discretion of the Committee based on majority vote.
  10. A member representing the modality will be given a seat as a Non-executive if the member is not elected as an Executive on the FCNMAM Committee.
  11. Each member representing the modality shall be represented by only one (1) representative from its association / society at all FCNMAM's meetings. They are responsible to provide the Honorary Secretary with the name, position and contact number of their representative who will attend FCNMAM's meetings.
  12. It is the sole responsibility of the member representing the modality to inform the Honorary Secretary if its representative is unable to attend any of FCNMAM's meetings.
  13. Subject to Clause 4(12) to Clause 4(16), all subsequent association / society practising the same modality / practice area shall be affiliated to the Member who is presenting the modality but the said subsequent association / society affiliated to this Member is not required to be a member of this Member.
  14. No affiliation fee shall apply to the subsequent association / society affiliated to the Member representing the modality pursuant to Clause 4(17).
  15. All relevant matters and information pertaining to the respective modalities / practice areas shall be conveyed or informed by the Member representing the modality to its affiliate association in writing. It is the sole responsibility and duty of this Member to disseminate relevant information to its affiliate association and the sole responsibility and duty of the affiliate association to enquire and obtain information pertaining to their modalities / practice area from the Member representing their modality and not from FCNMAM.
  16. The FCNMAM's secretariat shall be copied in all correspondence relating to the respective modalities / practice areas between the Member representing the modality and its affiliate.
